Probing Protoplanetary Disk Winds with C ii Absorption

چکیده
Abstract We present an analysis of wind absorption in the C ii λ 1335 doublet toward 40 classical T Tauri stars with archival far-ultraviolet (FUV) spectra obtained by Hubble Space Telescope. Absorption features produced fast or slow winds are commonly detected (36 out targets) our sample. The velocity decreases disk inclination, which is consistent expectations for a collimated jet. Slow mostly disks intermediate high without significant dependence on inclination. Both and preferentially FUV lines neutral singly ionized atoms. Tauri disk winds heated by ambipolar diffusion II - Observational tests
Thermal and ionization structures of self-similar, magnetically-driven disk winds obtained in a companion paper Garcia et al. (2001) are used to compute a series of jet synthetic observations. These include spatially resolved forbidden line emission maps, long-slit spectra, as well as line ratios. Line profiles and jet widths appear to be good tracers of the wind dynamics and collimation, where...

The disk-wind model suggests that the broad emission lines of a quasar are emitted from the surface of the accretion disk feeding the central black hole. In this paper, we assume that a line-driven wind emerges from the illuminated face of the disk and calculate the line emission produced by this wind. The location and mass-loss rate of the wind are determined by the physics of the line driving...

We present the results of a high angular resolution (0. 3 ≈ 40AU) Submillimeter Array survey of the 345GHz (870μm) thermal continuum emission from 9 of the brightest, and therefore most massive, circumstellar disks in the ∼1Myr-old Ophiuchus starforming region. Using two-dimensional radiative transfer calculations, we simultaneously fit the observed continuum visibilities and broadband spectral...
متن کاملHydrodynamic Models of Line-Driven Accretion Disk Winds II: Adiabatic Winds from Nonisothermal Disks
We present here numerical hydrodynamic simulations of line-driven accretion disk winds in cataclysmic variable systems. We calculate wind mass-loss rate, terminal velocities, and line profiles for C IV (1550 Å) for various viewing angles. The models are 2.5-dimensional, include an energy balance condition, and calculate the radiation field as a function of position near an optically thick accre...
متن کاملDynamics of Line-Driven Disk Winds in Active Galactic Nuclei II: Effects of Disk Radiation
We explore consequences of a radiation driven disk wind model for mass outflows from active galactic nuclei (AGN). We performed axisymmetric timedependent hydrodynamic calculations using the same computational technique as Proga, Stone and Kallman (2000). We test the robustness of radiation launching and acceleration of the wind for relatively unfavorable conditions. In particular, we take into...
